Fix an invalid Twitter or X post link
Use a direct HTTPS post URL to fix invalid_link errors in TwitterDL.
Updated
Which links work?
Use a direct HTTPS URL such as https://x.com/username/status/123456789 or the equivalent twitter.com address. The final number must be the post ID. Profile pages, search results, lists, Spaces, and direct message URLs are not accepted.
How do I copy the correct link?
Open the individual post, select Share, then Copy link. Paste the URL alone, with no surrounding sentence or quotation marks. If a shortened link was copied, open it in your browser and copy the final direct post address instead.
Should I remove sharing parameters?
The validator accepts query parameters on a valid post URL. Removing optional sharing parameters such as ?s=20 makes the link easier to inspect, but it does not unlock a restricted post. Use HTTPS and avoid links containing a username/password or a nonstandard port.
